Brand Identity & Case Study
Goal
Create a cohesive brand identity that is modern, professional, and leans into blending health and technology that will resonate with the target audience. Expand upon the identity to create a universal conference experience with advertisements, event signage and swag.
Target Audience
College educated men and women within the medical field between the ages of 26 to 55 who strive to up to date on new advancements and open-minded about implementing changes to better the medical field as a whole.
Client
HealthNext is a large conference based in San Fransisco, California. The conference explores wellness and innovation through cutting-edge advancements in medical technology, telemedicine, mental health, and holistic health practices.
For the sketches, I wanted to experiment with all types of logos. I focused on wordmarks, pictorals, lettermarks and more. My main goal was to get as many unique ideas out that best matched Health Next's purpose and target audience.
For the digital roughs I chose the four best sketches. I felt that these best coincided with Health Next's purpose. From these roughs I decieded that the fourth logo was the most unique. I then further developed the logo based on client and peer feedback.

For the final logo, it was important that it incorporated both the human side of health care with the medical advancements in technology. I did this visually with a DNA strand. I also decided to keep the typeface clean, modern, and futuristic to best fit the target audience. The blue color also best fits with the conference due to it's trustworthy and calming psychology.

SWAG
I wanted to design promotional merchandise that best fir for Health Next's conference and for their target audience. Since the conference is geared towards healthcare professionals, pens, hand sanitizer, and a tote bag seemed the most appropriate. This was also a good opportunity to include the brand's patterns to make the items more personable. I felt like the hand sanitizer was a unique promotional material, and for a healthcare conference I thought it would be perfect to include. Also, the pens are a small and great way to promote the conference due to how universal they are. One can take notes during the conference itself or use them while at work. Additionally, the tote bag is perfect for promoting the conference and a great way for professionals to carry around all of their swag.
